Weekends

Sat., Feb 21
In the morning, we went to my host family's daughter's house and helped her move. My host family's relatives asked me many kind questions. I carried big boxes and put them on a truck, so I got very tired. After that, we went to her new house and helped again. I also played with a big dog there for a long time. For lunch, we ate a very big pizza. After that, my host father took me to a store that I wanted to visit. For dinner, we went to Shake Shack and ate hamburgers.

Sun., Feb 22
My host family went to church, so I stayed home until about 12:00. I did the laundry and cleaned the house. After that, my host mother and I painted with watercolors. I really enjoyed it, so I want to make it one of my hobbies after I go back to Japan. Everyone said my painting was very good, and that made me happy. For dinner, my host mother cooked chicken. It was very delicious. After dinner, we made cookies together. They were easy to make because we only had to mix the ingredients and bake them.

Sat., Feb 28
We met a dog named Penny. She was very big, energetic, and barked a lot. After that, we went to a petting zoo and got to touch many animals. They were all very cute. Then we went to a dollar store, which is like a 100-yen shop in America. There were many different things for sale, and it was fun to look around. I was happy because I could buy the tumbler that I wanted. That day, I made hamburgers for dinner. My host father liked them very much. He even asked me for the recipe, so I was very happy

Sun., Mar 1
In the afternoon, we made cupcakes to give to everyone the next day. For lunch, my host father made hamburgers. They were very delicious. In the evening, my host father and I watched the movie Rental Family. There was a scene with okonomiyaki, and I remembered what we learned in our writing class. I was happy that I could understand it.

Sat., Mar 7
I went sightseeing in Seattle with Kiara and my host family. First, we went to a place with a beautiful view where we could see the Space Needle. The view was amazing. We also saw a man proposing there, and it was very sweet. After that, we went to the beach. Kiara and I talked about many things, just like a girls' talk. It was a lot of fun, and I learned many new things about her. Then we went to see some boats. I had never seen boats like that before, so it was very exciting.

Sun., Mar 8
On my last day off, I went to church with my host family. After that, I played with the children there and made origami with them. Some of the children said, "Hello" to me in Japanese, and that made me very happy. After we got home, I ate a lot of tacos, which are my favorite. Then Penny came over again, and I played with her. I also made iced cookies with my host family's daughter. For dinner, I cooked nikujaga. Everyone liked it, so I was very happy. After dinner, the three of us painted with watercolors, and then we played games together.
